Thursday, June 30, 2005 - Gino Vannelli - Shawinigan, Quebec, Canada.
Gino Vannelli at the "Festival d'ete de Shawinigan Sud"
Here is some information from Gail in Kansas City, USA :
Hi B&T, Just wanted to tell you what I'd learned today when I called Jean Francois Charette, the president of the Shawinigan, Festival d-ete de Shawinigan....as we are planning on hearing Gino in Shawinigan and LaSalle, and have not been in that part of Canada before, he was kind enough to tell me a few things about the area and the concert..... Concert is outdoors...gates will open at 6PM, they expect Gino to hit the stage about 8:45 PM that evening...this festival goes on for 6 days and Gino is the last evening. He advised me that Gino will do approximately a 90 minute concert, and he has a young girl that will sing two songs in French with him...I believe she is from Montreal...he did not give any other information... They will rent chairs for seating or bring your own (hard to do when flying there!)...tickets will be 10.00 each at the gate... He spoke English well but had some trouble with words and I speak minimal French, but he gave me as much info as he could at the time! As you can probably tell, I'm already planning ahead for these concerts! You may post this on the prefun pages so everyone can read this info! Gail Kansas City

Hello... If you thought that the Syracuse maps were helpful, why not the same for Shawinigan-Sud?

Overview map showing access points from the United States. If I were going, I think that I'd take Interstate 91 North through Vermont and bypass Montreal. I am told that the border crossing on I-91 is a lot faster than I-87. If you're coming from Boston, I-93 hooks up with I-91 a little bit south of St. Johnsbury. Both roads offer nice scenery. St Johnsbury is a nice place to stop and have lunch or just to take a break. The yellow highlighted street is "5th Ave". There is no mention of the facilities on this map. I guess that you just find this road and eventually you come to something with 10,000 cars scrambling for spaces! I wonder if they have a Wal Mart?

Hi B&T, Just wanted to tell you what I'd learned today : I talked with Ginette (she works for the City of LaSalle) today about the concert in LaSalle... it's another park event and they are expecting huge crowds as there will be events in the park all day... a young French singer, Rachelle (not sure name is right!) will appear first and Gino will be on stage about 9:15... there will be a short fireworks display during the concert's intermission, then Gino will finish his concert.. sounds great, huh? Gail.

Tuesday July 5, 2005 : Gino Vannelli in Tivoli Copenhagen, Denmark.
Here are the links for the Copenhagen Jazz Festival and Tivoli both web sites are updated for the Summer of 2005 !!! Gino Vannelli and His Band will perform with a big Band and strings 22.00pm at the Open Air Stage of Tivoli. There is no extra fee, when you have entered Tivoli (admission to the park is DKK 68,-).

Italy : 14 November 2005 : Venice : Palazzo del Cinema - Lido de Venezia alle ore 21.00. A benefit concert with many artists and a dvd shoot. All proceeds go to cancer research, especially for children with cancer. GINO VANNELLI, Joe Vannelli, Alain Caron and Mark Kelso.

Some fresh news to update your website :
Joe and Diane were involved a lot in finding artists for the concert in Venice november 14th.

1/ The official italian website with the complete track listing of the artists involved in this benefit concert.
(We, the editors checked this web site on Friday 20 june 2008 and it does not work no more...
So our hopes for a dvd are gone too!!! B&T)

2/ the benefit will be used in the the purchase of a 7 millions euros machine from last generation called PET. I m not a specialist but it seems that this apparatus was great in preventing cancer's.

3/ The DVD will be on sale through the Vaticano in a large way all over the world.

4/ Last but not least you could tape the concert connecting to : Radio Monte Carlo the complete show will be broadcasted at 21:00 (local hour) on november 14th and live. Have a nice sunday les amis... These are the days and the last news. Jacques in France.

Mr. Hans Eijkenaar drums, Michel van Schie bass and Ronald Kool keyboards. And on Saterday Peter Tiehuis the guitar player of the Metropole Orchestra played in Gino's band too.
