Maragaret and Mary Linn did backgrounds. Richard Beaudette from Montreal played sax. Mixed by Engineer Ric Duncan in Portland, OR.

Kadomatsu T's Songs From L.A.
The Ballad Covers Collection
There are many good pop music artists also in Japan, but not so many artists maintain their top-rated commercial position over the decade as such kind of things are really difficult in the States and/or in Europe. Toshiki Kadomatsu is the one. He has been leading Japanese pop music since 1981 when he was a university student. His musical roots must be Westcoast / AOR music and he gradually established his own unique music style. You may already have the CD "Kadomatsu T's Songs from L.A. -The Pop Covers Collection -" in your hand now. Further, you will be able to have another one soon. This time is :
"The Ballad Covers Collection"

The lyrics :
You'd think I had better things to do with my life
Than crying over you
But every night I do
I should tear your picture into a thousand pieces
And toss them all away
And I will, but maybe some other day
I should have never laid my cards upon the table
I ought know to hold them close to my heart
Should have held my wine and my tongue while I was still able
To talk in circles while we danced in the dark
Still I'm in love with you
Not a thing in this world I can do
About the moonlight and the stars that shine up above
Still I'm in love with you
It's a sad fact but true
Once a fool always a fool in love

Sax...

To talk in circles while we danced in the dark
Should known some words are better left unspoken
At times I wonder how do I live with myself
Should have read the sign before my heart was broken
I might have guessed you cared for somebody else
But still I'm in love with you
Not a thing in this world I can do
About the moonlight and the stars that shine up above
Still I'm in love with you
It's a sad fact but true
Once a fool always a fool in love

Guitar...

But still I'm in love with you
Not a thing in this world I can do
About the moonlight and the stars that shine up above
Still I'm in love with you
It's a sad fact but true
Once a fool always a fool always in love
And the stars shine above........
Still I'm in love with you

Second comment from Barend and Trees in Holland dated 30 October 2004:

WOW !!! Gino sings with His heart again... The shivers run through our bodies when we hear :
"Still, I'm In Love With You" - Goos-bumps, chicken-flesh, everything and all kinds of emotions when we listen to this song for the very first time... What a cool echo we hear a few times... The pure guitar sounds are soooooooo BEAUTIFUL !!! Gino made again a work of art of this Japanese song... Great slow dance song for cosy moments with your loved one !!! We only listened to song number one on the repeat mode so we do not have an opinion yet about the rest of this cd. And to be honest we only have feelings for the first song !!! The 5 minutes and 33 seconds of musical pleasure is very worth while the troubles and the money to order this cd and that's for sure !!! By the way at CD Japan you have no troubles at all and you receive only joy, musical joy !!!
Divine voice - great arrangements - superb musical work of art by the Master of Music : Gino Vannelli !!!

Third e-mail from PA, USA dated 30 October 2004 :

Christmas arrived early in Pittsburgh this year! I received my CD about an hour ago. I was shaking when I opened the box. Time always ticks away too slow between hearing fresh Gino material. His vocal range seems to get better and stronger with each song. Gino's signature poetic style is evident in the english translation, as well as his familiar self-reference to the "fool".

Toshi Onizuka's playing in the intro sets the mood for the rest the piece, the influential spanish style is taken to new heights. Richard Beaudette's sax is amazing as always, it just melds with Gino's voice. The sweet background vocals of Margaret and Mary Linn (from the Niels Lan Doky album "haitek haiku")are the perfect subtle accompaniment. What more can I say?
Terry - Pittsburgh PA
