Hello Barend and Trees,
I'm sure you've gotten many emails with this same question, but I thought I'd ask anyway.
As you know, Gino was on the Saturday Morning Early Show on TV here last week. He only spoke to the host for a few minutes, but what he did say was interesting. When asked about the next album he replied - quote:

"I'm living in Holland these days and I've got a whole new approach to how I'm going to see the next album, so those 30 songs I wrote during this period - they might have to wait another 5 years."

Do you know anything about this? I hope all is well with you both. Jann

(21) : An e-mail from Terry in PA, USA dated 24 October 2006:
Yes, all is well in the universe again!
I had to let you know, Gino has another convert!
I managed to work myself into such a state with everything that's been happening here, that I spent the last two days at the "SPA!"

You can imagine my reaction when Dr. Ravi walks in and exclaims, "Terry, guess who I saw on the Morning Show, GINO! He's fantastic! I went out and bought his new cd and Canto." We listened to "Great Divide" in the OR! I told him under ordinary circumstances I would be singing and dancing but could he please do something about the knawing rats in my stomache!!!! He did, then I showed him your website and told him he had to drop into the questbook!

Have a wonderful weekend. If your in Amsterdam, stop in Roberto Botticelli and hug some shoes and boots for me!!! If you're really in a shopping mood, I have an entire list! Terry

RE: The Gino Vannelli live performance in the CBS Saterday Early Show

Hi B&T,
I also watched the CBS morning show with Gino and he was wonderful per usual. Like the other fans I was very suprised to hear that he was living in Holland. Can you give us an insight as to whether this just a relocation to work on production projects for other musicians or has he moved there period.
A longtime gino fan, Deinara

The editors tried to make the pictures sharper but there were too many lights in the studio to make pictures with a phone but we appreciate Laura's poging to make pictures inside. Yes we, the editors have a spy everwhere on this planet.

A little blurry...but you can at least see him! Laura.

Dear Barend & Trees,
Wanted to share the attached is a photo of Jamie, Gino and myself taken after Gino's performance on the CBS Saturday Morning Show, October 14th.

It was a great experience for Jamie to watch rehearsal and then the actual performance, which was broadcast live from the CBS Studio on 5th Avenue in New York City.

He performed "People Gotta Move" first; then did a brief interview with Russ Mitchell, the news anchor; then closed the show with "I Just Want To Stop". Everyone in the studio truly enjoyed the performance. It was a great way to spend a Saturday morning. Best regards, Laura

PS - I sent you several photos from my phone....I hope you received them.

What is Gino doing living in Holland?
I saw his performance on the CBS morning show Oct. 14 and almost fell out of my chair when he said he was living in Holland these days, and that his new pop CD was delayed maybe FIVE YEARS!

What's he doing? Please update us on your web site. Thanks. Kara Meier.

RE: CBS The Early Saterday Show...

Hi B&T,
The show runs about 2 hours (from 7 to 9). I started the tape about 10 minutes early because they had a little advertisement mentioning Gino. His performance is in the last 15 minutes, but they have little clips of him during the commercial breaks.
Everybody is OK over here.
Talk to you soon. --Chris

CBS

Barend and Trees,
Just in case you haven't heard, the CBS show was very nice.
Gino looked and sounded good. I don't know how he does it -- to travel and to not get much sleep.
Love KC

Hello Barend & Trees,
Was able to catch Gino yesterday on the CBS Early Show with Russ Mitchell. For early in the morning, Gino and the band did very well!! Great to see Gino get exposure on USA National network television.

Here is the link to one song he performed,

Hey, Gino mentioned he was living in Holland right now. Is he working on a project? Very surprised to hear that.

Look forward to any updates you can offer. As always, thanks for all the hard work to keep all of us Gino fans informed.
Love to you both, Donna in Dallas, Texas

(11) : Another e-mail from Gino Fan T., PA, USA dated Sunday 15 October 2006:
Russ Needed Two Crowns!! One for the Queen and One for the King!

Ken and I would like to thank Russ Mitchell, CBS, and DJ Management for the opportunity to see GINO Live ON NATIONAL TELEVISION. Yes, we can all lament that it was much too brief but when was the last time Gino's talent was recognized and showcased in the States?

Let's just hope that the invitations keep on coming!

P.S. My phone started ringing non-stop at 7:00 a.m. and didn't stop until around 9:30 a.m. Friends and relatives were calling to let me know that "Gino is on the Early Show!" "Thanks everyone!"

(9) : An e-mail from Colorado, USA dated 14 October 2006:
Good morning Barend & Trees:
Thank you, as always, for keeping us up to date on Gino. I marked the date of his appearance on "The CBS Early Show" on my calendar when I heard about it. I found out that, in my city of Denver, CO, the show airs at 5:00am!! I didn't realize it was a 2 hour show and that Gino would be on at the very end, but I set my alarm clock and watched the whole show, afraid that I might fall back to sleep.

The host was truly excited that he was on the program and Gino sang "People Gotta Move" and ended with "I Just Want to Stop". He looked very relaxed (although it was very early for him I'm sure) and sounded wonderful. He mentioned that he had just flown in from Amsterdam and was flying right back after the show! He also said that he's living there now? You must be thrilled to have him so close. Anyway, just thought I would fill you in on another great performance as viewed by one very early TV watcher.
My best regards, Jeri Van Dyke.

Gino's Living in Holland??????????????

Gino sang People Gotta Move and then I Just Wanna Stop.
Our local station cut in just as he started singing the second song with a commercial and never went back. Unbelievable!!! They did show a clip of him singing Rock Me To Heaven and playing the keyboard. I hoped he was going to sing that but . . .

Russ asked about the 30 songs he wrote and when a new album would be out. Gino said he didn't know, since he was living in Holland now. I knew it!!! I hope everything is ok. I was so upset, I couldn't even pay attention to his singing. He said he had to fly back to Holland tonight.

That's it, still in shock!
Terry S.

Hi B&T,
I just saw the CBS Early Morning Show with Gino Vannelli. He was great!
He performed "People Gotta Move" and some other little clips in and out of commercial breaks.
He also did "I Just Wanna Stop" as the show ended.
He says that he is currently living in Amsterdam and will be flying back in a few hours.
Regards, Chris

(6) : An e-mail from Mexico dated 14 October 2006:
I'm crying in front of my TV. I'm SOOOO SAD!!!
Can you believe I couldn't watch Gino Vannelli's performance in this show? I'm completelly upset. My cable system has a channel named American Network and they transmit CBS programs. To tell you the truth I never saw this TV show, it's at 6 in the morning (I don't wake up at this time on saturday). So I checked yesterday the programming guide in my TV, there was the Saturday early show announcement, saying "Gino Vannelli Performs", I was so excited I couldn't sleep well. But this morning, when my vcr was ready there was no CBS program!!! How can they do this!!!

You can imagine the sorrow and pain in my heart, I was just about to see Gino on TV and all fell down. I called to the cable system office and they just said it's out of their hands, the channel is American Network and not just CBS, so, sometimes, they switch programs from one channel to other. I'm terribly sad and angry!!! PLEASE!!! Let me know how was the show, and if you can include the video on your website it would be a HUGE opportunity to watch him. Sorry to discharge my anger, but I'm sure you can understand how I feel!!! We fans in foreign countries like Mexico have so small opportunities to see him on TV, and when I thought it was going to be the time, this thing happen!!!

In the other hand, I wish you both are OK. I see you are working very hard in the AMAZING GINO web site THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing it for GINO VANNELLI'S lovers (we can't call ourselves just fans, we the people who love his music and enormous talent feel something deeper than admiration and respect for what he does and make us feel in our hearts, brains and our whole body) I'm sure you understand what I mean because I know we share these feelings of total devotion to him. I'm still in front of my TV, and I've just seen a commercial "Saturday Early Show 9 AM" Maybe I still have a chance!!! We'll see, now there's hope in my heart!!! I'll write you to see what happened.

Talking about something else, I've seen joyfully, at last there's one more mexican getting in touch with you. Everyday, more people in every corner of this planet knows about you and I feel glad for you!!! You should feel so satisfied when you read all the messages in your Guest Book!!! Well I'll stay here watching TV until I have some news. Thank you for "listening" to me. I feel better now, knowing theres's still some light of hope. Best wishes and a huge kiss for you guys. Maria Maru in Mexico.

I've mentioned some dubious talents of local elected officials and candidates in recent weeks, but here's the real deal. Barry Aiken, owner of BareMic Music Studios in Coeur d'Alene, is also a talented keyboardist. When not performing with his band, NorthPoint, Barry's touring with Gino Vannelli. You can catch him in a live performance on Saturday if you're an early riser ... Barry will be on keyboards with Vannelli on the CBS Early Show (5 to 7 a.m. on KREM2).
