I wish you the best ...Patty and I are your fans since 80's Best Regards Lic. Guadalupe Rejon Import & Documentation American & Efird (4): Happy Birthday GINO VANNELLI! And an opinion about Gino Vannelli Why he gets scorn Especially in the beginning, Toronto-based Vannelli wrote some incredibly cringe-inducing vapid lyrics, like "now don't get paranoid, I ain't a horny little mongoloid." He also often over-emoted the hell out of his voice, like as if he forgot he was singing rock and was performing an opera instead (much later he did recognize that he was singing opera and put out a real opera record). And the heavy reliance on ARPs and Moogs gave his recordings shorter shelf lives than a fresh grouper left out on a sidewalk in July. Over time, all these quirks were mitigated just enough to give him a #2 hit in 1978 with the sappy ballad "I Just Wanna Stop." So Gino probably didn't get all that widely criticized, because nobody noticed him much when he was more prone to show his bizarre side. Lucky him. Why I dig him, anyway Vannelli had some pretensions of being a soul-jazz inflected prog rocker before he eventually settled for just getting a few AM hits, but while he often failed in that pursuit, he came up with some interesting, melodic stuff anyway. "Where Am I Going" flashed some sophisticated arrangements and tempo changes, while "The Surest Things Can Change" has a sweet, melancholy vibe that proved the Italian Stallion of the North could come across sincerely if he just went light on the syrup. Plus, he didn't skimp on the studio help; guys like Jay Graydon, Graham Lear, Ernie Watts, and Jimmy Haslip provided the instrumentation, and it showed. Pico in the USA... HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINO! (6): Hi Gino, Happy birthday to you, I’m just 3 days older than you so we both have a party in a couple of weeks. First of all. I want to thank you for all the songs you made and sung Your songs gave me a lot op comfort and joy since the early seventies. I heard your voice on the radio in the middle of the night and I was moved. I didn’t know who you were; I wrote your name on a piece of paper. And the next day I bought my first “Gino” Album.
Tonight I will see you in an open-air-concert in Amersfoort, Holland; I hope the weather gods are in a good mood J
This concert will be my birthday present, so thanks again. (7): HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GINO VANNELLI!
Aloha Gino, I grew up in Los Angeles, as a matter of fact, you were in my mother's store several times. Perhaps you remember Karabel Dancewear, it was on 3rd & Fairfax in Los Angeles near the Farmers Market. Unfortunately, I was never in the shop on any day you were in, but she always told me about it, knowing that you have been one of my favorite performers through the years. She passed on in 2001 on Halloween and I have been living in Hawaii since 1990. Anyway, I have never gotten to see you perform live, you are one of the few musicians I have admired and have not been able to see.I am going to be in Portland May 24 through 29, maybe I can fly down to Vegas and catch your act there. Can you have someone help me with getting a great seat? I would be perfectly willing to buy it, just would like to get a great one and possibly meet you in person after or before the show, if that's cool with you. I am also a musician, guitar player, mostly rock, blues and funk, and I have always admired your approach, writing style and great voice.
Brother to Brother was like fusion with vocals. It was pretty much the
first of music like that. As a matter of fact, here's a link to a jam we
had ..sort of a loose version of Gino, I was wondering why you released 7 new songs and put 7 old ones on "These are the days". I am sure that you must have written many more songs in all these years.
Love to hear from you. Thanks, Best Wishes and Much Aloha, happy birthday next week! (8): Dear Gino, Once again I want to wish you a very happy birthday. My twin brother and I are still on our Gino high from your Unbelievable performances at The Suncoast Casino. Thank you for being such a gracious artist and taking the time to meet your undying fans. The memories, autographs and photos will last the rest of our lives. Thanks again and happy birthday. Robert in Fort Worth, 5-22-2007. (9): Hi Gino, It’s me, Norine. I just want to wish you a great 55th birthday. I know you have been busy with your music. I hope that you will take some time off so that you can spend it with your family, your brothers and your mom. Ciao for now Norine, 29 May 2007. (10a): Dear Friends: my new e-mail is: Lamvenosa@in Argentina. Please, send me all data, specially next birthday of gino. I want send him a message. Thanks. From Argentina Luis Venosa (Gino's fans since 1974) an Eliana (doughter) dated 6 June 2007.
(10c):
I sent you an e-mail with a message for Gino's birthday. I don't see it in "2007 Birthday" page or your site. I hope that you upload my message. Thanks. (11): Happy Birthday Gino Thank you for the sacrifices which gives birth to your boundless, effortless and measureless freedom. I am extremely grateful for it was your music that accompanied me as I traveled over 3,000 miles alone from the Southeast to the Pacific Northwest, USA. According to Quantum Physics your voice can be measured in many different ways. This you know. My personal favorite is the measurement of your voice as light and traveling through the heavens as massive spectrums of light. How cool and how beautiful is that?
To place upon the face of beauty a fine and rigid definition is to misunderstand the beautiful.
Happy Birthday Gino......... May You Always Enjoy Moments That Last A Lifetime. (12):
Happy Birthday Gino: You never ceases to amaze us!!
Gino can never imagine the weight of his words, "a mother's young son sleeps all alone..." The lyrics of that song are just indescribable. And the way he seems to take you around the country, his voice changing... Hearing him sing the words and play the piano in Montreal, I know what you mean! That young man's parents and friends will NEVER forget what Gino did to honor him. He never ceases to amaze us!! HAPPY BIRTHDAY GINO from Ken and Terry in the USA dated the 9th of June 2007. (13): Dear Gino, What more is there to say to you than congrats and all the best for you, Gino?. This year I will become 53 and to be honest, Gino. I am a bit jealous that it looks like you are at least 5 years younger than I am right now, eventhough we both know better. It must be the music that keeps you looking so young. This year (July 22) my wife and I are married for 30 years and the funny thing is, that I'm "married" with your music for 30 years as well (since I heard your LP "Powerful People" during our honeymoon in 1977 on Ibiza, Spain for the very first time and I was totally lost). As of that moment I am a part of your most hardcore fans and I thank you for all the pleasure, which you have given me with your beautyful songs.
Furthermore I wish that you will really find your "home of peace and rest" in Holland. Stay with us, stay amongst your Dutch hardcore fans. Probably the most loyal fans in the World. (14): hello First a HAPPY Birthday for GINO VANNELLI! during surfing your amazing website, i saw there was two auctions for two DVD from gino, one from the live in montreal, and the other one from canto (i think). is there a store somewhere where i can order these dvd ? or it's only available as auctions ? thanks and Gino happy birthday and have a beautiful day! Didier from France. 20 May 2007. (15): Thank you so very much for the info regarding Gino Vannelli Live at the orange lounge. I followed your instructions and was successful!!!!! I am a huge fan and these sessions are priceless. Thank you once again. An I wish Gino Vannelli a happy birthday on Saterday the 16th of June. Joe, 5-26-2007. (16): Hi back B&T! So nice of you to inquire...........yes, I was able to get to Vegas for the first show at the Suncoast.
I've read all the reviews and it was wonderful and intimate. We talked with Sandin after the show and had to tell him however that it was a bit loud for the room size. I'm sure the Flamingo venue was much better suited to his sound? I haven't heard from Sandin since then - - - Anyway, I was so hoping you could make it to the states.........would love to meet you. If you ever do make it to Oregon, I will take you to hear Sandin's group - - - you will LOVE seeing him step out and take center stage - he's an amazing entertainer in his own right. Take care and keep up the great work - you guys are awesome! Fondly, Gloria and a HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GINO of course...... Gino, enjoy your birthday! (17): Happy Birthday Gino
Thank you for you for the music. (18): Hi dear friends: Gino's birthday wish. I want to write a birthday wish for Gino, but I can't do it from the specific place you have for this purpose. Is it possible that you can post it in the right place, please?

Traveling from Baltimore, MD to Vegas was not easy but I have never been so moved by a concert in my life and will never forget it. I wish you all the best that life offers because you give us all your best! Kathy Baltimore, MD (31): Gino: Happy Birthday and may the good lord give you many more years. Your music has touched so many of us in so many unique and special ways. I could write countless pages of the many times between the early 70s and the present when one or another of your songs was pivotal in setting the mood; consoling the soul or simply served to reminisce of a special yesterday. I hope that the formations of "seeds of world to come" will recognize you for the genius that you are. There are some of us, however, lots of us, that know it already. Feliz cumplianos mi amigo, ruben P.S. I hope you did not mind the bear hug at Starbucks (32): Dear Gino,

IN MuziekMozaiek.NL!
The "THE GIST OF THE GEMINI."
IN MuziekMozaiek.NL!
From this vinyl single we play the single "Never Cry Again" in which the Hammond organ already plays a very important part. On 11 May 2007, almost 40 years later, Gino teaches in a workshop in Amersfoort, where he shares his musical experiences and life's wisdom with the people of the audience. MuziekMozaiek.NL was there too of course. Gino is a warm, genuine and charismatic personality who can tell and teach many things about the art of the song. Sitting behind the grand-piano he sang "None So Beautiful As The Brave", a song for a young man of 21 years old who died as an American soldier in Afghanistan. He knew the kid and the Kid's family asked Gino to play and sing on the memorial service and Gino was very nervous and played with shaking hands because of the deep emotions. We let you hear this song too. In 1973 Gino and His Brother Joe Vannelli were desperate to find a good record deal. They still had only 5 USA$$$ in the pocket and in Los Angeles Gino got this idea to wait at A&M Records for Herb Alpert with His guitar in His hand. He got this great record deal and the first album was born: CRAZY LIFE in 1973. We will play the "Piano Song." Than 1 year later the release of the LP "POWERFUL PEOPLE" which confirms the carreer of Gino and Joe for the future. Gino shows His respect for the crashed Jim Croce by this song: "Poor Happy Jimmy". After this you can listen to Jim Croce himself with the song "Time in a bottle". In 1975 Gino and Joe produced the LP "STORM AT SUNUP." With the tune "Getting High" Gino let us hear that you can get high from your girlfriend instead of alcohol or drugs. Again a year later Gino and Joe and also Geoff Emmerick produced the LP "THE GIST OF THE GEMINI." In the song "Omen Of Love" they use the wah-wah pedal on a synthesizer in a very beautiful way. And than the dream of every pop musician comes true: When a big classical symphony orchestra plays your own compositions and creations... Gino lives through this dream on the LP "A PAUPER IN PARADISE". We will let you listen to "A Pauper In Paradise 4th movement." A creation with the same title as the LP title in which we can hear the fabulous mix of synthesizer and symphony orchestra. In our new edition of remarkable musical moments plays a sample of 20 years old from the tune "It Hurts To Be In Love" a big important part. An expert in synthesizers Jhim van Bemmel tells us a wonderful story. We can also hear this special sound in the song "Young Lover" from the LP BIG DREAMERS NEVER SLEEP in 1987. The LP NIGHTWALKER is from1981 and again a big success: This LP becomes number 6 in the American top 20. "Living Inside Myself" was our choice to play now. We end this birthday program with the LP BROTHER TO BROTHER from 1978. The song "I Feel Like Flying" gives us the best authentic atmosphere which is so characteristic for the style and kind of productions from GINO VANNELLI

Dear Gino:
THE BELATED BIRTHDAY WISHES:
(75): Hello again Barend and Trees, You are very good for "amateurs" as you said. Sorry for the trouble I will not repeat that. I should have make the document directly in the web page instead of Word. Thank you very much again, you are very kind people. Vous êtes très gentils (in french).
Enjoy your summer! (76): Hi Barend and Trees! I have been very busy here with work and keeping Toni active with all of her activities. I have been thinking of you though and wanted to write you a note. I hope all is well and you both are having a great summer so far. I didn't get a birthday wish in for GINO but Toni woke me up by singing Happy Birthday to Gino for me. Then when she got home from school she did it again and we had some cake that I made! It was cute and at least he was thought of on his day by us. I really want to see him again but I guess I have to wait until he comes back to the States sometime this year. I hope you both are doing well. I hope you can get my emails and I did get the one about Gino's birthday wishes so I hoipe that is all cleared up. Please respond and let me know if you can send to me. Talk to you soon, Patti, 6-20-2007. (77): Hi Barend & Trees: First... happy belated birthday to GINO...
I don't know if you'll remember me but I have a GV writing project on the "Canto" page. I'm clearing out some thngs in our home and I've stumbled across some GV record albums. There are only three albums "THe Gist of the Gemini," "Nightwalker," and " Black Cars." We do not have a record player any longer. I could donate them to charity however I'd like to know if you have any interest in my donating them to you? Inspiration starts in the home. --Alpha English Again a BELATED HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GINO VANNELLI!!!!!!!! Even though you may be old you can still rock the mullet. Love you and your hotness! Ali and Jenny dated 23 June 2007. (80:)Hi all you crazy people, first of all Happy Birthday Gino, carry on with your new definition of an artists life. We wish you everything you wish for yourselve and stay crazy on this planet Earth cause ....these are the days. Edith and Werner Well i´m back on the www. We´ve had a complete breakdown of internet and mailingsystems in our house in the week after Amersfoort. It took nearly 3 weeks to recreate all systems and cable disfunctions. I was´nt able to send our impressions and experiences from that remarkable weekend in Amersfoort. Here we go! It is bad to seddle down in real life and work after highlights like that. Gino went to another higher level in combining a very special performance - music, poetry, storyteller, poems, soul and life surching, the meaning of being, the sence of song - creation, the art of music. He´s a real master in all that. The audience in the chappelle was allowed to get that spirit he´s able to sent out.. And there is "None So Beautiful" and the story behind the words. People cried. And he explained why it is like it is. Gypsy Days. And then there was Entertainement too. The mood changes from sadness to fun. He created an athmosphere we´ll never forget. And it´s been the first time he sang and played Piano. He was so happy when he made fun with brother Michiel who played like a God of ebony and ivory. And then there was the melody of an cell - phone during Michiel playing an intro. He catched that melody in a second and played along the melody. Incredible -everyone laughed. Gino sang with an extraordinary passion and emotional power in that beautiful room of the small church. To us it´s been real heaven. And now we know who´s the most wanted Bachelor in the Netherlands. Gino told us. We ´ve enjoyed that early afternoon in the Saint Aegtenkapel. We will never forget. After the performance everyone was in a scratchy and happy mood and they all had that shimmering eyes and smiling faces. It seemed to be everybody who stayed for to see them again after show. When they arrived it was a wave of applause. We were so happy to live that experience together with so many friends and fans we know over the Gino - years now. It was so good to be with Trees and Barend who are the most passionate and lovely people we´ve ever known. Can you imagine the happiness in everyones face?
The evening before that was the short show with the Houdini Horns on the market - square of Amersfoort. Approximately 2000 people filled the square. It´s been a nice warm evening to stay outside.
Gino and the Houdinis brought the heat to that place. A few versions they arranged like the Chicago Horns but a bit more jazzy. Gino filled Amersfoort with his entire voice and gave the conductor to the Houdinis. Very extraordinary style.
The schedule of the Festival didn´t allow to do more music and the show was over in one click. The crowd wanted more.
We too.
And we´ve got more, much more on Sunday in the church. (81:) A birthday wish for Gino Vannelli...
Once again I want to wish you a very happy birthday. NOTE when you'll come to Mexico one more time. (82:) Gino...I hope that this birthday was terrific for you... I pray that you come to Maryland or Washington soon to perform for your steadfast fans...We miss you!! Jazzyjuls aka Ginoaddict... Julia N. Maryland, USA (83:) Gino Vannelli birthdaywishes for 2007 - do you still want to be TRUE?
Dear Gino,
Our dream was to catch a bit of freedom.
Ingenious, the only and how the love was born.
Gino, many people laughed when we (me and my heart friend Paulo
Kowalski) mentioned SOME Gino in Poland.
Now Mr Marek Niedzwiecki
ONE DAY I will meet you, Gino. Just to say - thank you!
Only that.
More than enough.
Gino Vannelli. THE Artist. (84:) Hello Barend & Trees: Please sorry the delay in my response. I was out of Lima because of my job... I was sad I couldn´t sent my greetings to Gino on his birthday, so please send my best wishes to him. Best regards, Martha from Peru dated 24 June 2007. (85:) Dear Gino, Happy Birthday , another year goes by. Still enjoying your music. And that's a long time from the early 70's. I saw you the first time in "tivoli" in Utrecht, Holland. I still have a my records from the 70 e from you. The last time I saw you in Amersfoort , in the open air, with my sister Jane. She wrote you a note too. We were kidding, to do our shopping every week in Amersfoort, instead of Utrecht. Maybe we could help you with your shopping (hihi) Have a nice day. And maybe till the next time. Hélène Brandes, 29 June 2007. (86:) Dear Gino, HAPPY BIRTHDAY! ! ! even though belatedly. You have given me so much pleasure since I discovered you a month and a half ago. I am overwhelmed by the opportunity to write to you. I know that you have many birthday wishes from all of your extremely fervent fans, so I may be lost in the shuffle. However, I wish you more success which you richly deserve and continuing creativity all your sweet life! And I hope nothing ever dims that wonderful, emotional, amazing voice of yours. I hope your life continues to be healthy and satisfying. And (selfishly, from my point of view) that you give us many more songs and albums to listen to and admire. I have never seen you in person, only on YouTube. Thank goodness for YouTube. One of your other fans told me about videos I could watch as I had never seen you before. I am hoping fervently that you will come to Seattle or Portland so that I may actually see you in person soon. Even though I discovered you so recently, I have become a tremendous fan of yours. HAPPY DAYS TO YOU in this universe we share. Some force made me discover you and I am extremely grateful that it did. I wonder if you can feel all that love pouring out to you from all your many fans? With love from one more fan, Patti McBain from Seattle dated 6th of July 2007. (87:) Gino - Sorry for the belated birthday greetings from your fans in Oklahoma City! It's still less than one month from June 16th, so, we hope you will accept our warm wishes and hope your birthday was spent with family, friends, and lots of cake. Keep up the great work. Best of luck with the European tour. Hope to see you back in the states. Come close to Dallas, or heck, just come to Oklahoma City. We will fill the Civic Center with your fans!! Jarrette M OKC, OK dated 15th of July 2007. (88:) Hi Gino, HAPPY BIRTHDAY I have been a fan from the 70’s on up. I would love to see you perform here in Wilkes-Barre Pennsylvania. Ten years ago: The British government broke off contacts it had just renewed with Sinn Fein after the Irish Republican Army killed two Protestant policemen in Lurgan, Northern Ireland.
