mmmmmmmm watching his videos from 1976-1980 once again. I still often wake to Gino's music, which I know means I need to look at my life and why his lyrics are so consistant. Aside from that, I believe he is the sexiest man I have ever seen in the last 30 yrs. Storm At Sunrise was 1975. His concert with the North Sea Jazz was totally awesome. I do not think anyone can relate to whats going on with Gino as I feel he writes my heart & mind. My daughter, age 10, LOVES Wild Horses and would do anything to meet her Mom's idol and her's. I am Gino Vannelli's biggest fan, and after thirty years as such, I have lost all shame and want him to know it. Hence, I sit here listening to his latest CD entitled "These Are The Days" which I ordered from Amazon.ca on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2006, two days before its February 7, 2006 release date at the U.S.-based Amazon.com in the process of submitting this song that I wrote about him on Wednesday, January 11, 2006, the day after I received his CD entitled "Canto"--- the most beautiful music I ever heard and that anybody's ever done in history---from BMG Music Service. Where in the world have I been in the three years since its 2003 release!

Anyway, if you think my song about Mr. Vannelli too personal to submit on his website, I won't be surprised if you reject it. But if you think it poetry from a devoted fan, then, by all means, print it, I will be most pleased. The name of the song is entitled "And I Have From Day One" and is printed in its entirety below.

I know it is a day late, but NPR in Philadelphia made my day on the way to work yesterday when at 7AM they announced Gino Vannelli is 54 today! Someone in Philly also loves Gino as much as I do.

I did want to let you know that Venus Envy has been getting some airplay on Love94 in Miami, FL. In fact Father's Day was the last time. It has been played on the "Sunday Jazz Brunch", hosted by Stu Grant. You did an interview with him back in '79! He played it at least twice back in February. I sent Stu the CD when the Cd was released in Canada. He did mention where it was available for sale.

Is there a list of radio stations that you would like all of us to contact so that we can get you more airplay around the States? I am a new fan of your music. I'd heard of you in 1977 but didn't connect to your sound back then since I was a young kid. I found "Canto" in 2004 and was surprised it came from you because of the dramatic change in genre; it's great music and I was impressed with it, but I still wasn't quite "hooked." Then in late 2005 I stumbled across "Yonder Tree" and it changed everything! I LOVED IT so much that it began a quest for all of your previous work. I think I've found most of it.

The pleasure of being unfamiliar with the work of someone who's been creating music for so long is that I wasn't left hungering for MORE(!!) right away...there were many years' worth of music to hear, examine, enjoy. Until now. I've caught up to everyone else. I've listened to "These Are The Days" a thousand times (every new song is fantastic!) and now, like the "older" fans, I want MORE, MORE, and MORE!!! Oh dear, I sound like the greedy plant in "Little Shop of Horrors." (There's a cultural reference for you Barend and Trees!)
