ALAIN CARON

5

A new musical project by Alain Caron called : " ALAIN CARON 5 " great music for all the music lovers on this planet. We, Gino Vannelli fans know Alain Caron as the very nice, sweet and relaxed bass-guitars player who plays Gino Vannelli's music with passion and strongness, we all remember " People Gotta Move " live on stage... Alain Caron also played in Gino Vannelli's SLOW LOVE tour in 1998 1999 and we saw him play the bass guitars in Hamburg, Germany - Tilburg, Holland - Two nights in Paris, France... And ofcourse the great Gino Vannelli OSM Montréal Symphonic Orchestra concert in Montréal, Canada on the 8th December 2000...... So we both decided to go to an Alain Caron concert in Holland last 8 November 2004... Anyways we like to dedicate this web page to ALAIN CARON and his new cd " Alain Caron 5 ". There are well known musicians playing on this album who also play or played in Gino Vannelli's band.

Here is an e-mail with the help from Tullio Pizzorno in Italy, dated 26 January 2005 :

31 October 2005 :
Alain Caron and
Band in de Melkweg, Amsterdam, Holland !!!!

A " Must " for good music lovers : Jazz & Fusion in Holland by Alain Caron and Musicians. This was one and only 1 unique live concert by Alain Caron in 2005 in Holland.

We all know Alain Caron as the Master of the Bass in Gino Vannelli's band.
So this was your BIG chance to see and hear Alain Caron play his own music with his heart, body and soul.
And with his talented Musicians. An evening out in the music heaven a heaven in Jazz and Fusion... Alain Caron's music heaven !!!

31 October 2005, on our way to Amsterdam, never been to the Melkweg, in English Milkway or Milkroad ??? We are looking forward to see and hear Alain Caron in concert, it was almost a year ago, less a week, that we visited an Alain Caron concert and we were so happy to see Alain's e-mail with the announcement that He will come to Amsterdam on 31 October 2005. Alain promised us an e-mail when we saw him in Copenhagen, Paradiso and de Oosterpoort, Holland last July 2005 when he played in Gino Vannelli's band. So Alain did what he promised and that says it all !!! GREAT and good personallity... We arrived after eight o'clock in the evening and had a nice coffee. Very cute concert hall and very intimate.

Two guys walked inside the concert hall and came immediately to us and we shaked hands because we met before at Alain Caron's concert in Gorinchen in 2004 and they recognized us. Very kind men who are very enthusiastic about Alain's music. One of them is a real fan... The other one Dimitri Verhoeven e-mailed us pictures last year as you can see underneath on this web page at the slide show... Nice to see them again !!!

Alain came on stage with the same young musicians as in Gorinchem last year so that promised only good music and enthusiasm..... Don't know how but Alain saw us immediately and we were in the middle of the hall because we did not push ourselves a way in the front row... Alain waved and threw hand-kisses ??? Hand-kisses to us ??? Yes to us !!! Wow !!! What a honour. The rest of the audience looked at us... Hahahaha !!!

The Bass guitar started, no not the bass guitar but Alain Caron started in a way which hit us immediately in the heart... He played very beautiful but also wild and powerful and His musicians gave themselves to the music completely and played so impressive and so full of genuine emotions...... David Bellemare played the sax and connected to the audience with very good vibes. And the unbelievable great way of playing the electronic vibraphone, Jean St-Jacques received the big applauses from the audience with a big smile. Jean St-Jacques also played in the Quebec Jazz-Fusion group UZEB in the 70's together with Alain Caron. Alain Caron called Jean St-Jacques his old Friend... David Bellemare gave us a sign of recognation with a very nice smile.

The audience was great but we think most of them were musicians or studying music at the music college in Amsterdam. And there were many young men who looked at Alain Caron with an open mouth and admiration for the way Alain played his bass guitars and they made very positive comments. They were in awe many times and could not believe how Alain did this and that with his fingers and thumb. There were about 99% men in the audience so they really came for the music and for Alain Caron's art how he plays the bass guitars and they were really interested. We could feel that and see that. Some men were so much into the music that they moved their bodies, arms and fingers like a real bass guitar player, so great to see !!! NO screaming women, no fanatic fans only people who came there for the music and the musicians... So very relaxed and the atmosphere in the Melkweg air did fit into the music very well.

One moment Alain said to the audience : "Why are you so quiet ? PEOPLE GOTTA MOVE !!!" And he pointed at us at the same time with a BIG BIG smile from ear to ear... After this Gino Vannelli moment Alain touched the strings of his bass guitar and people had to move...

Again a good evening with good music and those enjoyable evenings end so quick, too quick !!! Alain pointed at us after the last musical piece that we had to wait, so we did. We bought Alain's latest cd called 5 for the second time because we had to support his work. Alain came to us in the concert-hall and we had a nice talk, Alain made us feel very welcome, he signed cd's from the people who bought one and Alain was very happy with the audience. The two guys who we already met in Gorinchem last year at Alain's concert in the Peeriscoop took pictures of Alain and us so maybe we will get some pictures by e-mail. If so, we will add them to this web page for sure.

Alain took us back stage and we had a drink and a very long and serious talk which we will remember forever. Alain's girlfriend must be so proud of him and love him so deep because the way he talks about her is just so beautiful to hear. How can a man who plays such a rough and powerful musical instrument be so gentle and sweet !!!???

We thanked all the musicians for the great musical show and wished them all good luck on this tour. Alain will play with Gino Vannelli on 14 November 2005 in Venice, Italy and he looked forward to this event with much pleasure. Also because he will see his girlfriend again and they will be in Venice together. How more romantic can it get in Venice !!!

Here are some backstage photos after a Gino Vannelli concert...

Our story starts : 8 November 2004 : We had a great day in beautiful Gorinchem with a view on the river which is amazing and during the sunset the view was even more beautiful. This was our very first time in Gorinchem, imagine so close by our hometown and we were never ever there... Anyways, we went to the Peeriscoop theater and got hit in the heart by the special beauty of this Peeriscoop theater and the man, Fred Delfgaauw, who built it with his own hands, the dream of a boy... which came true with lots of troubles pain and despair but without the help or the money of the Dutch government. Fred Delfgaauw is a Dutch actor and a theatrical producer with a very long tour list, and tours at the moment through Holland and Belgium with his theatre performance called "Mozart". A magical art of narration and beautiful music...

At the moment Fred Delfgaauw's "Mozart" is nomited for the NRC newspaper audience award 2004-2005. A BIG award in Holland... And Fred deserves to win...

When we walked in the theater Mr. Fred Delfgaauw was already there and gave us a tour through this wonderful building. Mr. Fred Delfgaauw told us that the hardest thing in life is : To keep the dream alive which is very difficult especially the financial things and stuff and he is very happy with volenteers who help him to keep the place running... You can see more information and pictures on this Peeriscoop website, this web site will give you an impression about this theater. We had a great tour through this fantastic theater, the dressingroom is very neat too and very artists friendly, we saw some poor dressingrooms for the artists around this world. Thank God that we were early so we could see the whole theater in a relaxed way.

One moment later with a nice cup of coffee a man walked by and yelled :"Hey Barend and Treesssssssssss" and he was Fred the tourmanager of Gino Vannelli, wow !!!! He still recognizes us........... We had a nice chat but Fred was very busy ofcourse... So sweet of him to take time for us.

We went into the theatre and there were 2 front seats left and we imagined Gino Vannelli live in this theatre with only maybe 130 seats.... Wow !!! Very intimate !!! Nice thought !!!

Anyways the Alain Caron band walked on stage and started their jazzy musical journey and we were in the middle of it !!! GREAT !!! FANTASTIC !!! Alain recognized us and he waved to us with this big smile...

Alain Caron plays with his heart and so strong and powerful that the bass tunes flow through our veins for sure... What a great concert and what a super good musicians...

During the break Alain came to us and asked us to wait after the concert, that is what we mean with sweet and kindness... The second part of the concert was so enjoyable, real jazzy and fresh fusion with those fabulous bass tunes, Alain and his bass-guitar are one and play with finesse like Gino Vannelli writes inside Alain Caron's CD-booklet.

Tune number 5 : "Show of Hands" is really, really beautiful, Alain sings with his guitar and the sounds give us goose-bumps...

A must for all music - lovers on this globe : " ALAIN CARON 5 " We walked into our Friend René Moscou who is a bass-guitar player himself, he visitid Alain Caron's concert with his band members and they had an absolutely great time and they could not get enough of Alain Caron's music and way of playing the guitars.... They all had such a good time and we could see in their eyes and by the glow of their faces that they enjoyed the concert very much !!! MUCH TOO MUCH !!! Alain Caron received close attention, that's for sure... Again musicians who are highly gifted and brilliant.

After the concert we waited for Alain and yesssss Alain came to talk with us and no need to say how nice this time after the concert was... We were introduced to all the musicians and talked with all musicians who could speak English because most of them come from Montréal, Quebec, Canada, so they speak French... Why is it that many, many musicians are such nice and relaxed people (not all musicians!!!) and that they make us feel at home ??? Is it the music ??? Or is it the music-heaven ??? Or is it the air ??? Or is it the vibes ??? Yesssssssss... A little bit of everything, it's a mix but more important it are the the musicians who are so down to earth and with the hearts on the right places... Musicians who respect their fans and treat fans like "normal" human beings !!! BIG bow and BIG applause for the Alain Caron band who gave us a night to remember and music which plays in our heads forever and we non-musicians need music in this chaotic crazy world !!!

We talked for hours and we had to finish this cosy evening and in the meantime it was already in the middle of the night, we had to go from this cosy theatre and from these great guys... We both had good feelings like always after a live concert and we had enough energy again to go on to the next live concert... maybe even a Gino Vannelli live concert ??? Who knows ???
