A few Words by the Editors dated 30 October 2007...
Rehearsals/try-out in De Noot in Hoogland on Monday 22 October 2007 to get the Band into Gino Vannelli's musical spirit and vibes... There is a small audience, a café audience, not a music loving audience so it was very difficult for Gino and the Musicians and the whole show was a real try-out and a big challenge. And of course there are always music-lovers in the audience who discover the VANNELLI QUALITY and that's good to see and hear! WILD HORSES was so amazingly GOOD, the train sounds and the powerful Drummer, yes again a very powerful Drummer, super fantastic musicians, who feel and play Gino Vannelli's music better and better... The band played with so much dedication and we (the fans) all know what a perfectionist Gino is so the whole thing is a big, very big challenge for everyone in

UROPA.

We see well known faces in Uropa, a famous bass-guitar player called Michel van Schie who already played with Gino in 2005 in the Barend & van Dorp show on tv and in the music café in Amsterdam, Holland. And we see musicians from the Houdini's Horns: Angelo Verploegen, Erwin Hoorweg, Rolf Delfos, Ilja Reijngoud and a new powerful drummer Joost Kroon. During the rehearsals and the soundcheck there was a young musician who played the trumpet in stead of Arno Verploegen his name is Jan Dekker. Arno came in later and played the trumpet very impressive... Wow what a band and what a sound... They rehearsed about 7 Gino Vannelli songs like Walter Whitman Where Are You, Hurts To Be In Love, People Gotta Move, Don't Give Up, Wild Horses, Brother to Brother and Woman On Top...

Great sound and Uropa is ready for many concerts in Europe!!!

There once was a little country by the sea.
Nice people allover ( he!, its a fary tale!)
Every once in a few years there favorite one came along to sing for them
and made them, for a moment, the happiest people on this planet.
But when he was away they missed him dearly.
BUT SUDDENLY THE EARTH STOPT TURNING.......
HIM, HE, WAS GOING TO STAY WITH US
History was changed forever, this became worldwide nown as

_*** THE DUTCH ERA***_

He made some of his best music here, with "OUR" musicians,
he liked OUR" musicians!?!?, if ever there's a time to feel honered/proud/satisfacted/patriotic, here your change.
LIFE WILL NEVER BE THIS GOOD AGAIN!

IMAGINE TO HAVE GINO AS YOUR NEIGHBOUR. SOMETIMES I SEE HIM, JUST OUT THERE IN THE WILD, CAN YOU IMAGINE?? I wave at him and he waves back, my hart always stops for a moment, I probibly never get used to it *_BUT I AM ENYOING EVERY MOMENT OF IT

_*greetings from ron from barendrecht*_

As musician of Gino Vannelli it's not easy but fun and a BIG challenge, Gino changes the notes every minute, over and over again so the boys of the band have to be alert and study and making notes on the sheet-music, it's worth while the hard and difficult work because at the end it's sooooooo beautiful and superb! Than Gino's voice comes in and you have the joy of life! A good, very good live performance with good, very good MUSIC!!! Yes, here we go again:

Gino Vannelli's music!!!

No Wonder!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Your little Country is so unique!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Cafe De Noot is too cool!!!!
The drums on the ceiling!!!!!!!!!!!
And those platform shoes!!
I remember when all the guys use to wear those in the 70's. I got a good laugh out of that photo! Of course I use to wear them too!! Is that your new Volvo??? Hehe!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post all the pictures.
I feel like I'm there with you enjoying the fun, and the Voice of course, but the best part is that it feels like I'm on vacation and I get to see and learn about all the different places in Holland. I always google the towns, etc. to learn their location and more about them every time you go somewhere!!! My parents always made us do that when we went on trips (only we had to read books!). I'm such a nerd!!!! t
