Holland, VARA TV: The complete broadcast of the Dutch VARA TV show "De Wereld draait door" the title in English is probably "The world keeps on turning..." time left 18:00 is the time where the GINO VANNELLI part starts so drag the button till 18:00... Overhere you can see a few seconds of the performance... Just received the first part of this tv show with Gino Vannelli's "PEOPLE GOTTA MOVE" in a superb awesome version with very catching arrangements... ENJOY!!!

Yes, I saw the tv show. That was my comment "I'd Never Give Up!" That song is so beautiful!!!! But oh isn't that typical for Gino. I kept watching the soccer, soccer.... Then I skipped!!!!! Did you go to the show????????????? Where was it???? Amersfoort soon -

This will be more intimate and much more nicer with Michiel Borstlap, those two are a golden combination or a diamond mix in music! I am going to watch and listen to ´´Don´t give up on me`´ again. A while ago I wrote to you that me a non-sporty person started to go fond of sports while playing Gino's music, and yessss I am still going strong in sports. Wonderful!
I already have tensed muscles thanks to Gino! Funny isn't it!? I will no longer bother you, this became a pretty long story. I hope that you two can keep updating your web pages because I realized what a big job your web site is, especially in these times. But as long as Gino Vannelli keeps on walking you two will keep on walking too and for sure!
(6): My dear dear friends: I loved the jazz version of Wild Horses, but the new song DON'T GIVE UP ON ME is OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! It has the most sensual melody I have ever heard and felt in my whole body in all my life, and the lyrics are absolutely BEAUTIFUL, I think especially for people like us who have a "long lasting sentimental relationship". It strikes directly to our hearts and souls. I've played the entire TV Show several times just to listen again. Mr. Vannelli is a GENIUS, or shall I write a GINIOS (LOL). It's amazing how he surprises us in wonderful ways with EVERY SINGLE THING he does, he has a divine gift from Heaven, and thank God he knows that and works a lot to share with us, his loyal fans, AAAAAAAAALL THE TALENT he owns. I wish from the bottom of my heart I'll see him perform with Mr. Borstlap and the rest of the band (extraordinary musicians too) some day.

Hello les amis, The dutch musicians are great artists and the material sound very beautiful with only 3 instruments + voice. I m impatient to hear all the new songs on a single cd. For me Gino is actually at the top of his creativity in writing, singing and arranging new and old songs. I prefer the 2007 Gino's production to the 80's/90's albums, these old songs became (for me) outmoded in front the potential of the new songs. I m sure that in 20 years we will remind the 3 or 4 last cd's as the best of all his production, i m ready to bet with you les amis LOL LOL LOL . Have a nice evening Jacques in France.

Conquistò il disco di platino per la hit "I just wanna stop"
Appuntamento speciale al Gru Village presso il centro commerciale di via Crea 10 a Grugliasco dove la rassegna Jazz Night ospita alle 21,30, un grande nome della musica degli anni '70 e '80 ovvero Gino Vannelli. Italo-canadese (i nonni sono di Campobasso) è nato a Montreal e fin da giovanissimo grazie al padre, noto cantante jazz, si è dedicato alla musica, prima studiando percussioni e poi appassionandosi di musica classica.
Nel 1969 a soli 17 anni incide il primo disco con il nome Van Elli dal titolo Gina Bold. Dopo questi precoci esordi, il salto di qualità si verificherà con il trasferimento a Los Angeles dove venne scoperto da Herb Alpert il quale produsse i suoi primi album. Proprio negli anni '70 Vannelli raggiunge il suo massimo vertice artistico, dando vita a brani come «People gotta move», «Crazy Life», «Powerful People», «Where Am I Going» che all'epoca rappresentarono un'autentica sfida al mercato musicale e al tempo stesso la creazione del primo esempio di pop rock fusion. Fu così che arrivò nel '78 il successo mondiale con l'album «Brother to Brother», che gli valse il disco di platino per la famosa «I just wanna stop».
Nonostante l'incredibile riscontro commerciale, il cantante di origine italiane, da artista poliedrico e coraggioso quale è, non ha fermato la sua ricerca musicale e dopo l'album «Nightwalker» (1981) che vive sulla scia del precedente, si immerge nelle nuove sonorità degli anni '80 con l'album «Black Cars» (1985) che oltre al famoso brano omonimo racchiude «Hurts to be in love» ancora oggi un esempio di raffinatezza armonica. Grazie a questo disco che scalò le classifiche mondiali, arrivò ad esibirsi anche in Italia partecipando al Festival di Sanremo.
In seguito viene pubblicato nel 1987 «Big Dreamers Never Sleep», nel quale è presente forse l'ultimo grande successo di mercato, «Wild Horses». Sulla soglia degli anni '90 la produzione di Vannelli si è rarefatta, anche se è stato diverse volte in tour in Italia ed ha collaborato con Gianni Bella. Tuttavia la sua è rimasta una delle voci più affascinanti del circuito musicale internazionale e continua ad essere apprezzata come unica la sua capacità di mescolare insieme jazz, funky e fusion.

Het verslag van een paparazzi: Een goede gewoonte van Tjan is voor hij naar het buitenland gaat eerst de concertagenda van zijn bestemming te checken. En zo had hij dus al gezien dat voormalig wereldster Gino Vannelli, begeleid door de Nederlandse jazzpianist Michiel Borstlap en zijn band, tijdens Tjans vakantie zou optreden in een archeologisch park in Pozzuoli, een paar kilometer boven Napels. Tjan vindt de cd Live in Montreal die Vannelli in 1991 uitbracht geweldig, al was het maar om de uitmuntende geluidskwaliteit en het fenomenale drumwerk van Enzo Todesco. Tip van Tjan: deze cd is in vele uitverkoopbakken te vinden, en bevat nagenoeg alle grote hits van Vannelli (o.a. 'Wild Horses', 'It Hurts To Be In Love' en het van de ANWB-reclames bekende 'People Gotta Move') - klik hier voor actuele informatie over de handel en wandel van Gino Vannelli - Terug naar Napels, want reeds op de eerste dag van hun verblijf zagen Tjan en partner tegenover de Duomo een postertje hangen waarop dit concert werd aangekondigd. Ja, nee, wel leuk natuurlijk, maar niet erg praktisch... Tjan en partner zaten op 20 september namelijk helemaal aan de andere kant van de Golf van Napels, in het heerlijke badplaatsje Vico Equense. 'Misschien hebben ze wel hetzelfde vliegtuig als wij, dan zien we ze op het vliegveld wel,' grapte Tjan.

(4):Gino Vannelli en zijn roadmanager (op Schiphol stonden zij achter de partner van Tjan in de rij voor de kaartjesautomaat van de NS) stappen uit een van de bussen die tussen de vertrekhal en de vliegtuigen pendelen. Het acht man tellende gezelschap van Vannelli was uit duizenden te herkennen, omdat ze ook in het vliegtuig hun zonnebril ophielden.

En yess, DAMN... Who were in the row like Tjan and his partner at the airport to check-in for flight HV6412 to Amsterdam? Tjan could not help himself but he made a few real paparazzi pictures without being noticed. But one way or the other the pictures are a little bit of a hoax but at least they are real.

(4): Gino Vannelli and His Roadmanager leave one of the shuttle-busses which drive between the departure hall and the planes. The eight persons of Vannelli's company were so very recognizable because of their sun-glasses and they covered their faces with sun-glasses in the plane too!!! (At Schiphol Airport they waited in line behind Tjan's partner for the tickets-machine of the Dutch railroad the NS.)

A Concert where Gino gets a drummer and backing vocals from the audience, 4 strange people who had the guts to go on stage with Gino and Michiel... And people who read this will guess that we deeply enjoyed this unexpected GINO VANNELLI musical happening!!!

En verdomd... Wie stonden daar vrijdag in de rij om net als Tjan en partner in te checken voor vlucht HV6412 naar Amsterdam? Tjan kon het niet laten om ongemerkt een paar heuse paparazzi-foto's te maken, die op de een of andere manier een beetje Koefnoenerig uitpakten.
A very good habit of Tjan is to check out the list of concerts at our destination before he goes abroad. And that's why he already saw that former worldstar 
Back to Naples, because on the very first day of our stay Tjan and his partner already saw a Gino Vannelli/Michiel Borstlap poster on the wall facing the Duomo on which the concert was announced, Yes, no, fun ofcourse, but not very practical... Tjan and his partner were on the 20th of September at the other side of the Gulf/Bay of Naples, in the lovely seaside place Vico Equense. "Maybe they have the same plane when we go back and than we see them at the airport," said Tjan in a funny way.
