Proceeds from the concert and sales of a DVD of the concert will benefit the hospital Casa Sollievo della Sofferenza in Italy, a 1500-bed health care facility serving the people of rural Italy. The hospital was founded by Padre Pio, a Capuchin monk who was canonized in 2002. Pave the Way Foundation and its founder, Gary L. Krupp, KCSG, have supported the hospital for more than 18 years.

“This project was never attempted before and when I asked for help, the hospital referred me to Pave the Way Foundation and Mr. Gary Krupp, I am very pleased with the support from Pave the Way Foundation and all of our sponsors and artists,” said Antonietta Torsello, one of the primary organizers of the event. “Together with the support of all these excellent performers who took time out of their busy scheduled to donate their time, we are able to bring an improved level of healthcare to so many people who have no other access to healthcare. The cooperation of our sponsors and these world-class performers has made the event a tremendous success.”

“I am proud to have been a part of this historic event,” said Gary L. Krupp, founder and president of Pave the Way Foundation. “Padre Pio had poured his heart and soul into creating this island of comfort and succor for the people. By supporting the Casa Sollievo della Soffernza, we support his vision and positively affect the lives of thousands of people in Italy who would otherwise lack basic healthcare.”

The exclusive DVD of the concert will feature all the performing artists and include special features. Find out more about the concert and how to purchase the DVD at Old Friends and New Friends.

About Pave the Way Foundation PTWF has a simple yet monumental goal: To enhance the relations between the world’s religions through gestures of good will and thereby embracing their similarities and savoring their differences. In today’s world, some individuals try to achieve their agenda through violence in the name of religion. To silently allow this to happen defames every faith. The vision of PTWF is that the unified voice of the world’s great religious leaders condemning violence and promoting trust will pave the way to peace.
