Today we do sound check, then the show at 7:00 pm.
ANOTHER RICHMOND-VANCOUVER COMMENT DATED 13 NOVEMBER 2008 BY AN ANONYMOUS PERSON: Las Vegas, Nevada, United States of America Sunday 9 November 2008: Here is a Las Vegas GINO VANNELLI interview dated 27 October 2008:

And yes a few days later a total stanger (We all know this title of a Gino Vannelli song!) out there helped us and he did cut the videoclip to 16:45 posted it on the world wide web and here it is! Life can be so peaceful and happy!!! BIG thanks to Eric in California, USA... Very helpful and thoughtful of YOU! Please hit the picture and you only see the 16:45 minutes now... An e-mail with picture from Mikey RN in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA dated Saterday 8 November 2008 with the subject: Guess who we ran into tonight?
talk about luck and timing...
He was very gracious, shook
my hand as I rambled about seeing him several times in the 70's etc
etc. It was very surreal. There were no people around and after Peter
took our picture, they walked off and the sidewalk filled in with
people coming from all directions. it was really weird. The problem is
the picture itself. This from Peter who is a wonderful photographer and
has taken many beautiful pictures. I was so excited as you can see in
my face, (no makeup on unfortunately) so I was moving and talking and
the lighting was horrible with bright lights behind us and dark in
front. Peter had the flash off. we didn't want to impose and ask for
another picture. hopefully we will get to take one with him tomorrow
night. So we hoped for the best but the picture isn't very good. but it
is me and it is gino...I still can't believe it. I can't even explain
how weird it was..with the crowds disappearing and reappearing..it was
like the twilight zone. I went to a quarter machine and put in a dollar bill and
won 120 dollars. certainly not much but just more strangeness. there is
some question about how the meet and greet is going to work as the box
office said they had nothing to do with it. I finally got in to talk to
the head of the showroom and she said that she needed to talk to ginos
manager, but that we would be given a pass before the show...how they
will know who we are will be based on the seat we are in. apparently
they know who bought tickets before the general public, what seats we
are in etc etc. I am trusting that it will all be worked out. we came
up to the room after our exciting evening to get the pics put on the
computer with plans on going back out and over to the strip. It is now
midnight and peter has fallen asleep, so I guess we will call it a
night and go look for a photo lab in the morning. hopefully more pics
of gino and I to come...I still just can't believe it....I mean
really... ![]() COMMENTS ABOUT THE GINO VANNELLI LAS VEGAS CONCERT:
Several different e-mails from Cynthia in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA dated 10 November 2008 with the subject: Hi You Guys!
1): WOW! WOW! You two have made my life amazing. I have nice stories to tell that include YOU. Have you heard anything else from the folks that attended last night?
Cyn
2): No need to apologize. Just thought the reviews would be pouring in. The fans were ecstatic last night. I love the story MikeyRN sent into you about running into Gino on the bridge over to see his large billboard at the Hilton!
3):
As always, and appropriately so, don't you agree? Theatre was packed to the gills. People were very excited to be going to the meet and greet. Gino was very patient and kind as always, and I was able to say hi to all of the folks who work with Gino that I've come to know from going to the concerts. Ross was especially sweet and kind to me too. The biggest smile I got from Gino was when I said Barend and Trees say HELLO! Must feel wonderful to know your friend gets joy from just hearing your names.
4): As you know people will come from near and far to see Gino. Especially because we only had him for ONE night this time. Please do give me a heads up if you hear he is coming back this way. What a privilege to see him.
5):
I certainly did. And then I read that others that greeted him did the same thing. He most definitely must be getting a kick out of it. I know you are very protective of your friendship with Gino, but I can tell by the way he speaks of his love of Holland, that your friendship got him through a tough time in his life, which then parlayed into some of his best times and memories. A blessing to all parties involved. I could see the love in his eyes when I said Barend and Trees. Then the slight giggle when he thought, I wonder how many people are going to say this to me! LOL
7): Nope. Just A Good Thing. Can't wait to hear The Dutchbeat! From this Day On sounds pretty awesome too. A Good Thing sounded a lovely tribute to his wife. Let me guess, The Dutchbeat is about you two?
8): Will do my best to keep sending information. I'm sure you'll get much more from others. I want to send along photos but when I've done it in the past it deleted them from my memory stick. So I'll head out this afternoon and have them transferred to a disk so I can save my precious memories AND memory stick!
9):
I can see what a private person he is and that's why I'm sure he appreciates you all the more. I was reading some messages on your pages from before the concert and a couple of people that you chat with told you they would say hello from you also. I cannot attest that everyone did as I did, but I did, and that's what matters.
I just liked that it brought such a sweet and thoughtful smile to his face. By the time he saw me in line, I'm sure he was quite worn out from such a great show and all the well wishing. I'm sure it becomes a blur after a while. But his fans are just so appreciative and he is so kind to meet with us.
(1): Dearest angels Barend and Trees, Just got back from Vegas and I have to add my two cents worth, it was a night of pure magic Mr Vannelli was in top form, He started the show with Mama Coco always one of my favorites and he went straight to Summers of my life, I was crying tears of joy and happiness, Michael must be smiling down from heaven, he also played Black.....
(2): Icant remember the order of the songs but he played Black Cars, appaloosa always a crowd favorite, Hurts to be in love and this rendition was made poignant because yesterday was my Birthday and in my case it does Hurt to be in love, I was very moved by that beautiful song, he also sang Canto, and I didnt understand a word but it was so beautiful I pointed out to Kathy Knochel who was sittting on my right how absolutely gorgeous he looked in profile his chin especially and Kathy said all of him is beautifull, I ponted out he looked like a beauttifull Italian-Greek God like the ones you see in mythology and I think she chose to ignore the crazy talk fron Nanaluvsgino- and the band members were so gracious and friendly and talked to my sister, We met Ross Vannelli and he was so nice to me I told him I was there to deliver a hug from Barend and Trees from Holland and the hugs were delivered and he was gracious enough to pose for a beautiful smiling picture. Gino.......
(3):
Dearest Trees and Barend, it sounds like I am babbling but I am just so happy, I was saying that Gino allowed us to pose with him so my sister and I both posede with him individually, and he autographed my poster, both Gino and Ross autographrd my sisters cd of these are the days, somuch happiness, she came all the way from Australia for a moment like this . Alan Hindsw was so nice, everyone was so gracious and accommodating, Gino mallowed me to hug him, I dont know what to say I must have babbled something and we shook hands and he has this heart breaking smile that just lights up a room, In fact around 11:40 am today at the airport I was walking to Starbuck and who should come strolling up confidently towards the Us Airways gate, Gino Vannelli, Looking dropm dead gorgeous and I went up to him and introduced myself very nervous I said sometthing and stuck out my hand we shook hands cordially, I d.... (To be continued....)
Hi Barend & Trees, GREETINGS FROM TEXAS!
We sat there and tried to be calm....Randy Porter, on keyboards, started talking to us. I then showed him one of those 70's concert pictures, he then took it onstage and showed everyone, including Gino. They were laughing, I think...then Gino started walking toward us.....WOW! We got to meet him before the show and I even got a hug!!!! Too amazing! We stayed for the whole sound check.....totally awesome! Then we left and got a sandwich and went to our room to get ready.
We met some new friends on the elevator.....so fun to meet other crazy Gino fans! Then the show.......Totally awesome! We really loved Mama Coco and Summers of my Life....Canto was totally awesome too. Guess who I was sittng by??? Mercedes! She is really an awesome lady, we had so much fun during the show, she wrote down all of the songs, so I didn't have to! We had wonderful seats and screamed and clapped all through it. I can't believe all of this happened! Then at the meet & greet, we had so much fun! The pictures are great! I am still working on getting them all on myspace, but I have the most important one on there, me & Gino! The picture came out beautiful! We spoke to Ross Vannelli, he is really so nice. Then, of course, had to buy a new t-shirt! I wish you guys could have been there....what a trip! Now looking forward to New Orleans!
I loved the radio interview! I listened to it before I left on Friday, thanks guys!
Love,
Kathy in Texas
Barend and Trees,
Met Ross at the meet and greet also and he signed an old program from 1979. Gave Gino the dark chocolates and he was gracious and appreciative. Met many wonderful Gino fans from all over the country and we will be exchanging photos and stories. I got some spectacular concerts photos that I will send along to you. Do I email straight to this email address?
Thank you so much for your correspondence and you will be the first I send the pics to once I get them all uploaded.
He sounded better than ever, if that is possible.
Let me know about the ticket. I also haven't forgotten about sending you a care package of things from this area of Ca. Remember you are welcome here anytime.
Fondly,
Mikey RN, Ca

I saw him again a second time at the SUN COAST CASINO. And a third at the FLAMINGO HILTON. As a young man growing up in Las Vegas, I knew I had a unique taste compared to others because of my "Devotion" (EWF) to Gino, Ross, and Joe! The coming of full circle to me, is the fact that I was a Craps Dealer at the Flamingo, and I ended my casino career at the Las Vegas Hilton, before becoming an Airline Pilot. At the Sun Coast in Las Vegas it had been 25 years since Gino had played Vegas. There I was standing next to Ross Vannelli and introduced my sister to him saying, "Paula, did you know that Ross Vannelli wrote two songs for Earth,Wind&Fire, "YOU WENT AWAY"1980 release on Faces LP. And "WHERE DO WE GO FROM HERE" 1980 but released 2003 on Promise LP. and Gino's greatest hit of all time, was also written by Ross "I JUST WANNA STOP". Ross looked at my sister with a gracious smile and said,"THAT'S RIGHT, I DID". So not only is my favorite male vocalist of all time, connected to my favorite group of all time Eath, Wind&Fire. My second favorite band "TOWER OF POWER" 's drummer David Garibaldi was Gino's drummer for quite some time! People ask me. Are you not finished seeing Gino? You've seen him so many times now in the same year! My reply is. "As long as he is alive, I will see him every chance I get." I have been on the computer most of the day, chatting with other Gino fans, Mikey and Gina and telling all of my friends of my trip. Stephanie is a new Gino fan, I am training her.....lol. Hello, We had a meet and greet after the show and he was wonderful to stay for so long to sign autographs and to take pictures with all of us. I also got to meet Ross, Randy and Sandin. It was an overwhelming experience and I look forward to hearing him again.

and the Encore was: PEOPLE GOTTA MOVE And I counted three standing ovations, lots of chanting of Gino, Gino, and that was the best night of my life!!!!!!!!!!!! I will dedicate my life to praising his name and will indoctrinate my three daughters to be followers of Gino, so there I am making up a nice box of goodies for you, not as wonderfull as the one I got from Y"all yesterday, but I hope you like the first three chapters of my book, and at least I hope you laugh , even if you dont like it, tell me the truth, I am a big girl and can take criticism, I know I dont have talent to be a writer and a poet, as my sisters keep telling me, but I like to write about GINO, and I will have to stop and go make breakfast for everyone, Peace and Love, Nana. A message from the Gino Vannelli guestbook. dated 12 November 2008 (USA date 11/12/2008 4:21:27am ) from Tom G. in Granger, Indiana, USA with the subject: Gino Vannelli in the Las Vegas Hilton My wife and I attended Sunday's show in Vegas and the Greet and Meet. All I can say after 31 years of listening to this man and his music it was well worth the trip. Funny thing is this trip was all about me and my love of Gino V's music but when we left the greet and meet my wife said "we are doing this again"! So the hard core Bon Jovi fan is now a hard core Gino fan...lol. Love to see you come to Chicgo Gino but no matter, we will be back to see you again! Tom G. Another e-mail from Mikey in San Diego, California, USA dated 12 November 2008 with the subject: coming down off my Gino cloud Your English is very good and I can understand every word you write, so don't worry about it. You are much better off than me. I know NO words in your language. The meet and greet went really well. There were quite a few people, I would say over 100. So after the show, we were told to stay in our seats. Then the venue manager came by, we had to show her our tickets to verify that we were really in those seats, then we were issued a pass. I am going to take a photo of it and the pictures that Gino signed for me and send along to you. This includes the picture of us that was taken outside the hotel the night before the concert. We had it printed so he could sign it. After we were given the pass which was a stick on label, they took us down several levels of stairs to the Green Room. They let us in about 10 at time. It was a small room with several sofas, no drinks or food, and we lined up with Gino greeting each one of us and signing whatever we wanted and they even had someone to hold your purse or belongings and take your picture. It was very quick though. We managed to hang around for a time to get more pictures. That is when we met Ross. He signed his picture in an old program and allowed a picture. We got a picture of Gino leaving also. We got many great concert pics, including one that is just of Gino from the back. Without even seeing his face you know who it is. It is an unusual, but classic Gino pose, even if you don't see his face. He had on black jeans, a black shirt, that was untucked and a short black leather jacket. I had never seen him with an untucked shirt, esp during a show. For the meet and greet, he had changed to a dark gray pull over sweater. He did look very thin though. His legs seemed very thin. That is all for now. Need to go get some errands done and get away from the computer for a while...laugh laugh... Thank again very much. I look forward to keeping in touch and won't forget to get you a care package together. oh by the way, I met a fellow Gino fan who also went to the meet and greet and she is going to email you if she hasn't already. She has a wonderful pic of Gino singing Canto. Her name is Kathy and she is from Texas. She has some postings on your guestbook page prior to the concert. It was great to meet her. Gino fans are the best and so loyal! Mikey Another anonymous e-mail from the USA dated 13 November 2008 with the subject: Gino

Dear Barend and Trees Verwaal, But I must admit I would love know who you are? Two people? Friends? Brothers? What a great place (internet), to come to be near Gino Vannelli. Barend and Trees, I am absolutely thrilled to be communicating with someone who lives in Holland. This is amazing. I know very little about your country but have to say that purple tulips are my favorite. (ha ha, you probably hear that kind of stuff all the time) As far as my last name if you think it is best to leave it off that is fine with me. You are the experts. I want to tell you what a priviledge and pleasure it is to be able to check out your web site. Your efforts are tremendous and you are correct when you say that you have made so many people happy. I had no idea there was a web site like this out there and I must look at it every few days.Thank you for all the work that you both do for Gino fans. The meet and greet that he did was such a gift to his fans. I hope that he realizes what a tremendous impact that has on his fans and that he always does that. Does he do that also at the concerts in Holland? How wonderful to hear how much you are both so in love with each other. There is not enough of that in the world, we need more. I am happy that you have developed a relationship with Gino and Tricia also. Not that I would know but it seems like they are so in love with each other also. He has written such wonderful songs for her over the years.
I think your english is great and much better than my Dutch. Is that what you speak Dutch? See how little I know.....
It would be great for you to come to the US. I can tell from your web site that you have made so many friends that you probably would not even have to stay in a hotel.
Thank you again for taking time out of your schedule to communicate with me. And who knows what our futures hold. An e-mail from Eric W. dated 13 November 2008. THE SHOW WAS fantastic, Love to Barend and Trees!" Here is a picture of Ross Vannelli I took after the meet & greet with the VANNELLI boys... Im sending Hugs and Kisses. Silvia
An e-mail from Patti in New York, USA dated 15 November 2008 with the subject: Vegas show
Hi there~
I took a LOT of photos, about 1800 and there were people taking from the audience as well so you should get some nice pictures from fans. The show was great but from my point of view the lighting was really bad. Not for Gino, but for the rest of the band. Everything I took of the guys came out very dark and I try to get a nice variety of the entire band. It didn't really effect Gino's pictures but they are darker than I would have liked. Even so...there are some great shots if I do say so myself!
Ross was gracious as usual and was busy running around during sound check. The band sounded great and the addition of 2 local horn players was a nice touch to about 5 songs. I saw some of the usual "fans" that seem to turn up at every show I attend....it's always nice to see a familiar face when I travel alone. The guys were all happy to be playing together again and looking forward to NOLA.
I loved the new addition of Mama Coco, that was a blast from the past! Nice arrangement too, as only Gino can do. The other new songs were Summers of my life and one from the new album, Good thing. The stage was huge and they had a grand piano that Randy played Canto on. Gino sat on the piano bench with Randy and sang. I introduced myself to Nanaluvsgino and we laughed about the scarfs. I should have worn mine since it was freezing in rehearsal!
After the show I took some shots at the meet and greet. The fans were SO excited and Gino patiently signed each and every one of their souveniers.
Everyone seemed to have their own cameras so I only snapped a few photos of the room and a few of the guests with Gino. Another great experience to add to my growing collection. I will be in New Orleans with a lot of fans to do it all again. I am fortunate, I know, and I can't wait for the new album and a new tour. Maybe this tour will bring Gino to New York again or somewhere on the East Coast.
I hope we can get together soon. Toni missed eating pancakes with Barend and discussing EVERYTHING she could think of!!!
Be well,
Patti
Hello - My wife and I went to the Las Vegas concert last week. Colleen likes "Canto" a lot, as well as "These Are The Days". But it was the concert that really finally sold her on the great performer that Gino is. I have one question though. I saw the set list that someone posted here. But I though for sure Gino played "Nightwalker" at Las Vegas. Could anyone confirm that? I must be getting old!
I have included a picture of me with Gino from 1978. Competing hair!

An e-mail from Lisa V. in Tuscon, Arizona, USA dated 15 November 2008 with the subject: Gino in Las Vegas - Hello from Arizona Now to my report about seeing the incredible Gino Vannelli for the first time! "I know a good thing," and that good thing is hearing Gino Vannelli live in concert! W O W! What a dynamic musical artist. It was great to hear so many of his hits live. The afternoon of the show, while we rested in our hotel room, my husband and I caught most of the televised Hilton interview that was done with Gino in October. From what Gino said in the interview, I expected to hear more numbers from the upcoming "Dutchbeat," but he performed only one, "A Good Thing." It is a sensuous bluesy number and makes me look forward to the release of the new album. Gino and his amazing band opened with "Mama Coco," which was a funky let's-get-this-party-started intro to a rousing and fast-paced (the concert seemed to end so quickly!) show. "So glad to have you here .... " The feeling was mutual, Gino! I had been concerned about the sound quality ever since I purchased my meet-and-greet tickets in July, which had me sitting far stage left. I needn't have worried, the sound was good even from that angle and not excruciatingly loud. I was happy to be sitting so close to Sandin Wilson as he is a joy to watch. I was sorry not to get to meet him. Allen Hinds had some blistering solos that were very exciting, and I was thrilled, especially as a Steely Dan fan, to see the addition of a brass section. I love the fuller sound that horns can bring. What can I say about Reinhardt Melz except Monster on the drums! I was fortunate to have such a good view of him as well as Sandin. My eyes teared at "Living Inside Myself," one of my favorites. There is nothing like Gino's voice, it is so powerful. Some called out requests, and Gino said, "You might have noticed we don't do requests." He invited us to sing along to "I Just Wanna Stop," which we happily obliged, and I enjoyed Patrick Lamb's sax solo -- a real toe wriggler for me (as well as other sundry body parts!). I snapped a photo during his solo that also has Gino and Allen Hinds, but it is blurry. I may send it to you anyway. Although I thrilled to hear songs like "Appaloosa" and "People Gotta Move" live for the first time, I think the ultimate highlight for me (aside from the new song) was Gino's richly sonorous "Canto." Canto, Canto, Canto! What a showstopper! Honestly, I felt like I could have levetated and floated on the notes as Gino breathed them to life. What an exquisite performance. Randy Porter's tender and passionately rendered accompaniment was a joy as well. I really appreciated Gino taking a moment during the show to acknowledge the financial crisis and thank the audience for making the effort to see him perform. It was mine and my husband's first visit to Las Vegas as well. I suppose I thought I would visit there eventually, but it is only because of Gino Vannelli that I came, and would be the only reason I would return. It's just not my scene. But it was worth the "endurance test" to see him at long last. I hope that he will be able to perform at some other U.S. venues near me in the future. The meet and greet was well-organized and moved very quickly. I told Gino that I like new arrangements of his hits and looked forward to the new album. He did not reply, so I don't know if he heard me. A photo was snapped and I almost forgot to hand him the liner notes from "These Are The Days" for him to autograph. Fortunately, a generous body guard, or whoever he was, took the booklet from me and handed it back to Gino. Unfortunately, when I exited the room, I discovered that my eyes had been closed during the photo! So, I have to laugh, although ruefully. My only photo with this amazing artist and my eyes closed like a dope. My husband said he would try to Photoshop my eyes from another photo, but I have my doubts as to the success of that. Gino will probably end up looking like he has his arm around one of those big-eyed-children paintings of the 1960s! Haha. Oh well. I have a "pre-fun" photo of myself, eyes open, standing next to a Gino Vannelli poster in a Hilton hallway. I enjoyed meeting some Gino fans who had traveled from Texas and California for the show. I think the audience was very appreciative, although I will never understand why some people have a conversation during a song. After the show my husband and I got to speak with Randy Porter, Reinhardt Melz and Patrick Lamb, who were all very gracious and friendly. Later, Allen Hinds walked past us and nodded at us while he was on his cell phone. Then my husband and I, we like to joke and tease, had this conversation: "He nodded at us. " "But it was a significant nod, dont you think?" "Yes, one embued with great meaning." "So, does this mean we can say we partied with the band?"
I wish you could have been there, Barend and Trees. I hope to meet you some day and appreciate your ardent devotion to the music of Gino Vannelli. He spoke during the show of how music captured his attention as a youngster and how sometimes he saw it as some kind of illness. I felt like yelling "GIFT!" instead. For that is what Gino Vannelli continues to be given, an incredible gift of creativity and delivery. I am glad to have finally witnessed that gift in person. An e-mail from Aaron in Las Vegas, Nevada, USA dated 18 November 2008 with the subject: Gino's third Las Vegas visit
Hello Barend and Trees: Once again I was fortunate to make the sound check earlier in the day, only this time with my son Dante, and Daughter Siena. All should know quite a bit of work goes in to making sure all is set for the show. Ross and Nick were busy doing what they do good at the sound board. Give them an extra pat on the back next time around. Gino's wife was present, and as always nice to chat with Tricia. Patti was back with camera and cookies for the band. As you probably already know, Gino added three new songs this time around. He provided a unique arrangement of "Mama Coco", and "Summers of my Life" started off with the sound of Ocean Waves, and a tune off the new disc, "A Good Thing." Canto was once again very moving, as the women next to us shed a tear or two. Of note this time was Gino sitting on the piano bench with Randy, who's keyboard rendition was impeccable, and full of emotion. Sandin slapped the bass again through Black Cars, and his background vocals are giving the Water Sister's a run for their money. Allen kicked through the solo's, Reinhardt's timing continues to deliver on the drums through Gino's ever changing time signatures. Patrick Lamb was back on Sax, and a great addition was a couple of local guys on Trombone and Trumpet. They play with a very popular local band "Sante Fe" and the Fat City Horns", who coincidently do a version of "Brother to Brother" I believe you can find it on You Tube. Gino was very busy after the show in the Green Room Meet an Greet . There were well over one hundred people waiting in line to say hello and share their stories. Camera flashes were everywhere, and stories were abound ,from those in line, on Gino's influence on their personal lives. Always interesting to listen. Gino gave everyone his time, very commendable. I know he is truly grateful. As always, I am sure folks wish they could have hung around more. By the way, thank you again for the webpage on Shonie and I in the fans section. I guess we are busted! I flew to Las Vegas from Mexico City last November 9th just to see Gino performing.
A message from Jane L. in our Gino Vannelli guestbook from Connecticut in the USA dated Saturday 11/22/2008 4:49:35pm with the subject: Gino’s next show which was in Las Vegas the 9th of November.
Greetings fellow Gino fans! I must admit we were both so moved by Gino’s show there in Montreal we knew we had to see him again – and soon! Our 30th wedding anniversary was in September so we looked online for Gino’s next show which was in Las Vegas the 9th of November. We made that our anniversary destination. It didn’t take much to convince my brother-in-law and his wife to meet us there. We had the most wonderful time – beyond words. Gino’s voice and presence gives such an uplifting spiritual “high” that I am still floating! Sunday after the show we went to the breakfast buffet at the hotel. As we were walking back by the lobby we had a heart stopping surprise of seeing Gino strolling through the lobby in front of us making a beeline for the front door! We were blessed with the opportunity to say hello and mindlessly babble a few things, shake his hand and thank him. What a rush….I am still “high”! The guys were just standing back chuckling at our juvenile behavior but I must say it was entirely worth it. I can say this about myself; I am now hooked albeit a bit late in life but who is counting? I hope to see him again in Montreal or wherever else he might appear. A message from Beverly B. in our Gino Vannelli guestbook from Loves Park, Illinois in the USA dated Saturday 12/06/2008 10:07:25pm 6 December 2008 with the subject: best experience of my life! I was blessed enough to see you Gino in Las Vegas and it was the best experience of my life! It was my 30 anniversary of knowing your music and of my friendship with my best friend. In celebration she surprised me with trip to Vegas and meet and greet tickets. I was the lady who had Gino sign my license plate "VNELI78" which I had for 7years on my car. Some woman took my picture and said it would be on the web but I have not found it yet. I am however on the meet and greet page which thrilled me as my pic did not turn out. I am so greatful for sharing your music all these years it has inspired me thru all phases of my life. I loved the "these are the days" cd and look forward to the new releases. I had my first plane ride, my first to Las Vegas, and my ultimate of the concert and meeting you in person. Your fans are great and I will never forget any moment of that night. Keep up the music-a fan forever!!!! God Bless-Sincerely, Bev. Another e-mail from Said M. in Mexico City dated 30 November 2008 with the subject: Fan from Mexico at Las Vegas concert part 2
I want to share with you a couple of pictures. The three of us, with my autographed album. And the other of Bianca's Grandmother with Gino. She is also a big Gino fan!!!! About the question you asked, I was at the door of the theatre at 6:30 listening to the sound-check, and at the moment I thought that it was too close in time for the show to start. Then when the show began I was on first row, left side on the stage sitting. For the first song, I couldn't hear his voice very well. But for the second song, I stood up and went to the back, and Gino was THERE..... with his excellent voice. It sound better than his recordings. And a singer is blessed when he sounds better live on stage than recordings.
On a previous email I send you a picture of a T-shirt of 1991 Gino Tour in Mexico.
Do you know when in April will Gino be coming to Mexico?
Send us a picture of you also!!!
Thank you for taking the time ......
I solve the mistery of Nightwalker at Las Vegas concert last Nov 9th:
You can find in
you tube
We all thought that he was going to play Nightwalker. He tricked us
Las Vegas style.
They have to re-write the set list and put the introduction of
Nightwalker and then Appaloosa with a new arrangement. .......... END

Hello Barend and Trees!
My
excitement for my first trip to Las Vegas and getting to hear (and meet!) the great Gino Vannelli for the first time.
But, this trip will be good for getting my mind off of what I cannot control, and to get some Gino Vannelli musical healing!
I have a ticket to meet Gino Vannelli, I will be just as pleased and excited to meet you two as I will Gino Vannelli and his wonderful band. I hope I am not
reading the website incorrectly, and that in fact you are in Las Vegas for the show. I don't know if you will be able
to answer this email before I leave tomorrow. My husband and I are flying tomorrow morning.
I am sorry not to contact you sooner, but as I said, I have been greatly preoccupied.
Here's to a great show, safe travels and good health for all performing and attending, and wonderful musical
healing from Gino Vannelli!

Barend & Trees, Another enthusiastic e-mail from Nanaluvsgino in California, USA dated 4 November 2008 with the subject: I voted for Mr. Gino Vannelli!!!!!!!!! 4 more days and my other sister Alba, will drive us to the airport very early on Sunday morning, and we will be on our way. We will only be there overnight, and come back around 5 pm. on Monday, I traded with a co-worker, who is doing my two days, I was not able to get the days off because we are so short staffed -and thats a good thing because I get a lot of over time. Yesterday, at work I was in a melancholy mood and at work I played 'Summers of My Life ' like 30 times at work, its such a beautiful song, I just like it so much. I was even singing along to it, it was a quiet, cold rainy day ' perfect for that song, I was in a mood for introspection, and and writing down parts of a poem I am working on. Of course, If Mr.Vannelli, allows hugging I am going to give him too Big hugs for Barend and Trees, and I am preparing a short speech, telling Him how much I like him, and have liked him for over 30 years. My sister and I are both Big Women, so it is hard to find, nice dresses, so I will just dress for confort, not fashion, We are so big sort of like professional wrestlers, My God, its scary. I am so humbled and appreciative of all the neat goodies to add to my collection, all real treasures. I shall go now and say good bye for now. Love, Nana... Dearest Barend and Trees, talk about a life changing summer!!!! and that briefly is my testimony, I think you have been the catalyst for a very positive change in my life, I would have never known about the Meet and Greet tickets and wouldnt be contemplating, planning how to act normal when I do meet Him, I could srcream with happiness, but you get the idea, I know I am not the only crazy one, it is dawning on me how soon next Sunday comes. and I am going to be thinking about Y"all. I might raise a glass of champagne too, and maybe even drink it, What will the man make of this Hillbilly Woman-coarse, uneducated, loud, fat,---who cares. the only thing that counts is my deep and abiding love, respect admiration and hero worship of this very fine, gorgeous Angel sent down from the Heavens above indeed I know the world is a better place when He sings!!!!!!! I better go before you run for the Delete button and Lots of Love from, Mercedes. P.S. also Silvia, Danielle, Sabrina, Jacqueline and Maria-Therese also send their best Regards.

Hello Barend and Trees, A few lines and sentences with different dates from people who does not want their names on the internet and have many emotions, demands and special requests!!! (1): There is such an unbridled love in my heart, and such a fathomless font of admiration for Mr Gino Vannelli, and you can tell, can't you, that it comes from a good place and I mean no harm. I am a Christian. I love God, Family, and Gino, and sometimes not in that order, it changes!!!. (2): Dearest Darlings Barend and Trees, I am so thrilled, what a thrill going to Las Vegas... TO GINO VANNELLI!!!!!!!!!!!! (3): The concerts are selling very well. Looks like we might have sellouts. There is much anticipation in the air... (4): November 9th 2008. It is going to be the best day ever!! Well I am going around all day with a smile on my face, people ask my why I am so happy, I was telling one of our police officers Vince is his name, life is good God is Great, and Im going to meet Gino Vannelli in November. He was pleased to see mee happy!!! (5): That is a big trip for just one night, but we know he's definitely worth it. I will send reviews and pics, anything I can. Thanks for staying in touch. (6): We will be making our drive across the desert to Gino in the morn.
(7): Guess what???
I just made my reservations for Vegas...I know a little late but.......... (8): Hello. It's a special request that we are hoping that you can be of assistance with obtaining. Any how - here is our wish. What would the possibility be that Mr. Vannelli would add " Parole Per Mio Padre" to his performance one night in New Orleans? It would mean so much to hear this song performed live during this time. I am sure that Mr. Vannelli would certainly understand. We know (even though you do not admit this) that you are good friends and may be able to help us. As always, we hope you will do your best and let us surprise the girls with this special treat. Kind regards, No name mentioned!!! An e-mail from John L. in the USA dated 31 October 2008 with the subject: Homepage 1 GINO VANNELLI

Dear Barend Trees, Good morning from sunny California, thats great news!
Dear Barend and Trees, HALLELLUJAHH!!!!!! Iam so pleased I!!!!!!!
I love it! As usual I write too much, sorry. Mercedes.
Thanks. I am counting down the days to when I can finally meet Gino, my daughters of course want to go see the show but I told them that atmosphere is for adults only.
The trip of a lifetime!!!!
My Darling angels, I cant believe the wonderful; opportunity!!! Lots of love, as usual I remain the biggest, loudest Gino Vannelli fan.
Dear Sweet wonderful people, Hi, Barend Trees, Its me again home from work on a Sunday night, there is very little rest for some of us , I am longing for November 9th. leave the three daughters with my perents and my other sister and take my other sister along on the most wonderful vacation ever , even if its for two days it will be like heaven, I have lived in California most of my life , yet i have never been to Las Vegas, and I have never met Mr. Vannelli, proof that Gino fans come in all shapes and sizes. I shall treasure my auction goodies a very very long time. May you please send me an e-mail as soon as you receive the letter, I would really appreciate it THANK YOU. Love always, Mercedes.
Dear Barend Trees, Thank You, for your kind letter and kind words, When I read Marie from Waco Texas who called herself Nobody special, i was ready to cry and then I felt like deleting all the messages from the guestbook, but of course I couldnt, and then I thought to say something , and then Maybe an apology might help so I thought this is a very unhappy person out there and I better leave it alone. and of course I was only trying to be funny when I say we are practicing our bows and curtsies. but have you seen footage in the tv. when people are introduced to the Queen of England and ladies act like ladies and Gentlemen act like Gentlemen. It is like meeting Royalty to me, one should act reverently, politely smile a lot of course. and above all Do not interupt the Man when He speaks, I cringe when I have seen that in the past, I feel so embarrasseded.
I do not let mean people diminish my pre-fun or take away one ounce of the joy I am feeling and have been feeling all summer ever since Barend Trees announced the meet and greet tickets available. Oh my goodness, I must get going, I gotta go brew another pot of coffee and start my busy day. As always keep up the good work I shall drop in periodically and you know you will hear all about the Event, and will send lots of pictures . I cannot tell you what a treasure trove of information and pictures your website is and I will visit it daily for updates on the only musician in the world that really matters. alots of love, peace and Understanding, Mercedes, from the Great State of California....Someday I hope to invite you for a nice cup of coffee and we can set down a spell and have a chat about Gino Vannelli, there I said it. I must mention his name at least a dozen times a day on a slow day! Mercedes...
Hi Barend & Trees, thank you for your message about the concerts. I cannot wait to meet new friends and especially to see Gino, the Master of Music! His music is a huge part of my life and words cannot explain how excited I am for the upcoming concerts.

Hi Barend & Trees, just wanted to let you know how excited I am to be able to go to New Orleans GINO CONCERTS! I am also going to the Las Vegas concert, I think I am on the 3rd row on stage left. I just love visiting your website and the way you promote Gino. I am so sorry Gino is not promoted in this way in the USA. But I am trying my best, here is my myspace link...
Kathy Knochel.
I also found today in an old photo album, some Gino concert pictures from 1976 in Dallas, TX....I forgot I had them....maybe I can find a way to scan them and send them to you. Gino was fantastic in that show, that's where I first loved his music and him.....
Hi B&T, I am so blesesed to have a great year of Vannelli heaven. I made a dvd from our pictures of the Montreal trip. I am sending it to you this week so you can watch it. Sit back and watch it and it will be like you were there with us!!! I hope you did get the newspaper clipping that was in the Toledo Blade about Gino's birthday...I am looking forward to listening to the Metropole orchestra concert!!! Thank you for all that you do and share with the fans....We love you!!!!! We will keep you up with the pre fun!!!!!
Hi Barend & Trees,
I read with interest about the concert that Gino will be performing in Deventer.
When i was visiting Holland with friends we went to Deventer.
It was a very nice town and we all enjoyed our visit.
What a small world for Gino to be performing there.
Sorry I can't attend this special benefit show.
Have a great weekend,
Mary Lou
Just wanted to let you know that we got tickets ……….First Row…. For both Friday and Saturday night.
So the girls are all going. Hopefully Gino won’t be too scared when he sees us sitting there.
We’re all very excited. I sent you the placards earlier this week. Just let me know when you receive them.
Take care and thanks for all that you do keeping all of us crazy Gino fans up on all of the news.
Susan
Front Row for both nights in New Orleans!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Gino will have to wear his sunglasses so he doesn't have to see our ugly faces up front again!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Maybe that's why he wears them - he just uses "Black Cars" as an excuse! T
Hi B&T !!!!!!
We have been told all week by Harrah's that we were to buy tickets through ticketmaster because we could purchase tickets at 10:00 am and Harrah's box office did not open until 12:00 pm.......the tickets were not on sale at ticketmaster so calls were made to Harrah's box office and the lady in the office called ticketmaster and had it fixed!!!! Susan and I were panicked about the tickets!!!! Well now they are online at ticketmaster to be on sale online at noon..... WOW!! Phone calls back and forth from Ohio and South Carolina all morning!!!!!! LOL...Thought you would get a kick out of this...
I have another new Gino fan friend from myspace and we have been emailing each other about the tickets. So, my account is ready online at ticketmaster, and my Gino music is blaring....A beautiful day in Ohio and for Gino fans!!!!Love, Mary
Please “warn” Gino that the girls from Montreal will all be in New Orleans ……….It’s going to be great fun again.
I’ll send photos from New Orleans –promise.
Barend and Trees,
Hope you both are having the time of your life. This website is fantastic!!! Thanks again for keeping us all informed!!!
Good Morning Barend and Trees,
Tell everyone to get ready…………cause Michelle and I are going to New Orleans……
Can’t wait and hopefully will be able to supply you more pics.
Just checked the site-a little surprised, but happy to see Gino is playing the Hilton.
May have missed out on the ticket offer, but will make some calls anyway.
Yes, yes, yes....I can't wait!
Dear Barend & Trees:
P.S. We go to the Hilton at least TWICE a month for a show. For reference, we saw Johnny Mathis there in May, and this coming Saturday I will be there to see Kenny Loggins. Cynthia
Hi B & T;
I do have a question/request. At every concert, I have had the pleasure of speaking to Ross. He mentioned I should let him know the next time we are at a concert and I would like to email him and let him know we are coming again. Do you know if he has a website or a way I can reach him?
I wish you both were able to come out again. As I have mentioned to you before, my daughters loved meeting you and loved your accents! I think my parents would love to meet you too. I wish we were not so far apart!
Hi B&T, Great to hear from you and thank you so much for mentioning our Independence Day. Thanks for the info on the ablum title, not surprised he changed his mind. I can't imagine what he goes through. You guys are so lucky, Man!! But the best part about that is you know it, ha ha. I'll bet the two Mary's had an unbelievable time in Montreal.
I am so looking foward to seeing him again in November in New Orleans. Have a great week and again, thanks for all you do.
Love from Texas,
Robert.
Dear Barend & Trees:
If so, I would like to extend my Las Vegas hospitality your way. I was born in this town, so no one knows it better!
Thank you guys, got my tickets, really good seats......Stage left, 3rd row I think. I can't wait.....will ya'll be going?
Hi B & T;
Every dollar spent to see Gino is well worth it.
Love the Portland Band and Gino but I am really looking forward to
hearing Gino perform with different musicians.
The last dozen or so shows have been with the Portland Band. They
are all such great guys and very friendly and gracious to us at the shows. All the shows have been great but it will be nice to hear some
new songs. One of my best memories is the trip to Copenhagen and
being witness and hearing Canto before it was released. It was a long
wait but that music played in my mind everyday. That was the only time I ever heard Mala Luna live on stage.
So now it's on to Montreal and some new memories. It's hard for me to say anything negative about Gino and the music. He always brings his
heart and soul to each performance. Truthfully I feel priviledged and blessed to be in the room and hear him sing anything. It's been that way for me for over 30 years of listening.
WOW! GINO is going back to Las Vegas and New Orleans.
Thanks for all the info. You two are the best.
I am preparing for my trip to Montreal to see Gino on July 5th.
Will be in touch after I get back from Montreal.
Stay well and thanks again for thinking of me and keeping me up to date.
Mary Lou
